Fad Diets: What's the Truth? is a 19-slide presentation that provides an overview of quick weight loss schemes which are NOT the healthy way to lose weight and keep it off. Fad diets abound but all have at least one element in common - they usually overemphasize a particular food and contradict government guidelines for good nutrition. Whether restricting carbohydrates, restricting fat grams, or restricting calories, fad diets tend to provide temporary weight loss. The real challenge is long term weight loss and maintenance. Choosing a healthy life style plan is very important.
